The development version will not install as an addon, so you have to run it in the text window.
A special "addon" version has been added to the download file at lefty2000.com/TheMoviesGame.

The addon version is called "mshload.py." After installing, the addon will appear on the file menu under "import."

This is a bug fix update.  Version 1.4 of the msh import script would not import costumes without a head.  Costumes without a head require a "neckconnect" vertex group.   Version 1.5 fixes this problem.

A bug fix update is now available at msh import v 1.6.

There was an error in the previous version of the script that caused some distortion in the appearance of textures.  The error was at line 930 which read:
mat.use_uv_project = True.   It should be False instead of True.  The fixed version can be downloaded from Lefty's Movies Game Blog, or if you already have version 1.5, you can patch the code yourself by opening the script at line 930 and change "True" to "False."

A useful tool for working with The Movies assets in Blender is the head import script.  The alpha version of the tm_hd_import script for blender 2.79 is now available at lefty2000.com/TheMoviesGame.  As usual, the download link is in the sidebar under "Latest Downloads."

A bundle of three basic TM import scripts for Blender 2.79 can be downloaded at www.lefty2000.com/TheMoviesGame .  The link is in the sidebar under "Downloads for Blender 2.79."  These
are the scripts needed to import a game character from "The Movies" and render it in Blender 2.79.  This is not a new capability, in that all of this could be accomplished by using the old blender and the old scripts, however, I believed the exercise would help me to become less dependent on the old 2.49b version and more adept at using the later versions.

The scripts included in the bundle are: scripts to import *.msh, *.hd, and *.anm files.  

The link below takes you to a video that takes you through the entire process from start to finish.  Once you download the scripts bundle, and install them on your computer, you can reproduce the procedure illustrated in the video, if you wish.
