This update fixes several problems and adds a new tool to the modders toolbox for blender 279b.  The the new tool is a partial conversion of tm_preflight which is helpful in identifying problems in a costume model before attempting to export it to a .msh file.

The present set of tools works well for costumes.  You cannot make prop mods yet, because the export script does not correctly export prop meshes, but you can use the tools to import a prop into blender in order to extract mesh objects to be used as part of a costume.

The development of the TM scripts for blender 279 has reached a point where I was actually able to modify a costume in a substantial way and export it to the game successfully.

Although blender 279 is now obsolete, it has many advantages for the user.  It runs well on windows 10 and windows 11, and it has many powerful work flow enhancing capabilities.  Blender 279 is compatible with blender 249b,  so if you have resources saved in blender 249b, you can open them with 279b or append them to a 279b blender scene.

If you are a current blender user, and have not used blender 249b,  you will probably feel a lot more comfortable working with blender 279b than blender 249b.  The scripts for blender 279b included in the latest update are designed to be run in the interactive python console, so it requires getting used to working in a command line environment.  The scripts can also be run in a text window.

There were a number of fixes to the export tools made recently, so if you are interested in exporting TM models to *.msh files as well as importing them, you should try the latest version.  The most recent version is available a http://lefty2000.com/TheMoviesGame/index.shtml.

This is to announce another update to the Blender 279 scripts bundle for "The Movies."   An improved version of the preflight script is included in this package.  The script will now handle the missing grpName property and the presence of non triangular faces in the mesh.
